On the occasion of the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2023 and at the invitation of the New York Institute of Technology, Professor Ornella Iuorio together with Professor Juan José Castellón from Rice University cocurated an exhibition and co-organized the symposium titled “Material Ecosystems: Digital, Physical, and Cultural Assemblies”.

The time and space allowed the flowing of a magnificent discourse around transdisciplinary innovations through making architecture and structures, through digital technologies and craft. With panelists as Alessandro Tellini (ETH), Mariana Popescu (TUDelft), Hanaa Dahy (Aalborg University), Patricia Guaita (EPFL), Stephanie Chaltiel Reed (MUUD Architecture), Edouard Cabay (IAAC), and Guillem Cumella (Ceramica Cumella), the event opened up lasting collaborations.

Thanks to Professor Marcella Del Signore and Professor Maria Perbellini from the New York Institute of technology, school of Architecture and Design for hosting us.

The exhibition and symposium took place at Centro Studi e Documentazione della Cultura Armena in Venice, Italy, November 21–22, 2023.
