DIGI MATTERS

DIGI MATTERS aims to advance digital and sustainable construction education in line with the European Digital Transformation priority by co-creating interdisciplinary learning modules and MOOCs integrating computational design, AI assisted optimisation, robotic fabrication and circular workflows. The project develops hands-on training and strengthens collaboration between universities and industry, equipping students and professionals with digital and green skills for the European AEC sector.

DIGI MATTERS will run three cross-European Digital fabrication workshops on digital materials and components fabrication, co-create three MOOC phases and open-access multidisciplinary learning resources, involve industry through “Meet the Makers” sessions, and deliver multiplier events, publications, and an open-access book. Activities integrate computational design, AI-assisted optimisation, robotic fabrication, and circular workflows, advancing digital-green skills in the AEC sector.

DIGI MATTERS consolidates technical knowledge, design thinking, and fabrication capacity across Europe. Through shared curricula, student exchanges, and hands-on Fabrication Workshops, it bridges digital design and construction, replaces linear processes with circular, data-driven workflows, and enables students to prototype components using additive and robotic manufacturing, advancing Europe’s digital and climate-neutral goals while tackling skills mismatches and labour market needs.
